Double French Doors with Glass Panes

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Lately I’ve been thinking about houses and homes and more specifically, my home. My future home, that is. Being a Housing Studies graduate and life-long lover of architecture and design, it is only natural that my home will be something special to me. I plan to draft the layout myself and then work with an architect on making it just right.

I’ll include plenty of wood to make the home beautiful, warm, and cheery. Hardwood floors. Baseboards. Crown molding. Doors and windows and trim that don’t have paint covering up the wood. Just please don’t remind me that homes in Bolivia typically do not include wood due to heat and ants.

Tall, tall ceilings are a must to keep the house cool and airy.

Every bedroom will have a built-in wardrobe with charm and personality.

The kitchen will be spacious and probably a rich shade of yellow; the dining room outdoors.

I’ll have a brick wall somewhere to use as a backdrop for photos and plenty of trees, plants, and vines.

At least one guest room will be included, even better if it’s two.

The walls will include a balance between unique coverings, blank space, photos, and stripes

Windows and doors will flood the house with light during the day. I’ll have at least one double French door with glass panes.

It’ll probably be a number of years before I have a house of my own, but a girl can dream, right?

This house sounds so charming, inviting and so much YOU! I can hardly wait to see it one day. However, the "outdoor dining room" reminds me that this isn't a house being planned for Minneapolis. If only the distance weren't so far!!!
